Screen shots

G'day Folks.
Can somebody tell me how to put a 'screen shot' into a Topic or Reply please?
.jpg or .png
Not as a link but as a picture that I can see before I post the Topic or Reply.

You need to upload the screen shot picture to an image hosting site eg tinypix or similar then use the 'Insert Image' button at the top of posting window to add a link to that picture into your post.

So it can only be done using a sharing service?
My brain realy must be getting old. I was sure I had seen screenshots showing computer info in past as a picture.
Not as follows if I copy and paste a screenshot.

Paste it to what? That file is on your computer.

There are limited opportunities to add attachments, however that does not work in all forums. The method I outlined, using a hosting service, always works.

Or, Just like I pasted the following from LibreWriter.

The cow jumped over the moon.

If I copy a jpg into LibreWriter, it prints it and the text but only lets me copy and paste the text.
I suppose I need to convert the picture to text?

Upload your pic to tinypic.com, copy the URL that tinypic gives you, and then paste that between the [img][/img] tags here in your Reply.

No, you can not just copy an paste the image into a forum post.
Subscribers may upload attachments directly to CTH servers to be embedded in posts.
Otherwise, as described above, uploading to an image sharing site and linking with the [ IMG ] [ /IMG ] tags works every time.
This is a full image hotlinked from photobucket:

Here is a thumbnail image hosted on photobucket liked to the full image...

And the following dolphin picture is "subscriber" uploaded to CTH

I tried downloading and installing Tinypic into Mint 17 and Wine, but I had problems.
I have Picasa installed so I tried that and put a picture into the drop box. The best I could do was 'copy image location.
There must be something else I have to do that I don't understand.

You don't have to download anything.

After you upload your image file to Tinypic.com, Tinypic.com takes you to a page with a bunch of text boxes. Copy the text in the box that says "Forums and Message Boards" and then paste that test into your forum response, (it should already have the BB [img][/img] code tags in the text you copied).

Thankyou all for your help.
I can at least do it now. Even if I can't control the image size.

I am wondering if Cybertechhelp put the 'direct' image block in to keep out the 'porno bug***s?
