Where did all my hard drive space go? HELP?

Hi there,
i had a virus in my registry and my hard drive was almost full.
So i decided to put a windows home edition XP cd and put that OS on instead of the windows XP pro i had.

After installing it, it got rid of my viruses but i had only about 10 GB free space on the C:// out of my total 40gb and after putting back HALF of my old my documents files through a removable storage device, i filled it almost up.

I checked program files and my previous programs were there but not in the start up menu, so i deleted them, but i am wondering where did my other 30 GB go?
is it all the previous windows updates and all those programs? can you help me clear up all the invisble space?

thanks
AJ

Where did you get the XP Home Edition CD? BUT what probably happened is that when you installed it you installed it on a partition that was small. You will have to do it again but you should do a format and delete all the partitions so that when it installs the OS it will be installed on the 40GB. Then you will have all your GB's back.
