My screen is making noise...
Is it dying?
It makes a high pitched noise when I turn it on untill my desktop appears and then it stops. It also stops when I turn it off even if the tower is still on. I've had it for about 3 years, it's a Daytek. Is it breathing it's last breath? |

The whine is coming from the capacitors. I would start saving if I were you.

When it starts making this kinda noise, how long would you say I have? And what causes this? Deterioration or is it faulty... I've only had it for 3 years. Also, why does the noise occur only when I reboot but not when my desktop shows?

If it is your monitor, make sure all cable are plugged in correctly. Also try a different surge protector if everything is in the same one or using the same wall outlet.
