Smile Speaker problem - No sound in one speaker

Speaker problem - No sound in one desktop speaker

I have a Logitech Z 2300 2.1 speaker system.

I have no sound in one of the desktop speakers.

I have borrowed a friends Logitech Z 2300 2.1 speaker system and experience the same problem – one of the desktop speakers produces no sound.

Malware/antivirus scans reveal no problem.

I purchased an adapter to plug a headset into a Creative SB Audigy 2 unit.

The result:

I receive sound through both ear pads of the head set; however, I continue
to receive sound through only one of the speakers!

I would be most grateful for any assistance you might be able to provide me in addressing this problem.

Cordially
geoheid

In Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Audio tab, make sure your sound card is selected.

Then click the Advanced button and in that window, make sure the correct configuration for your setup is selected.

To the far right of the task bar at the bottom of the screen next to the time there is a little 'Speaker' icon? with sound waves coming out of it. Double-Click it Go to volume control and look at balance if the little bar is all the way to the left or all the way to the right that means its putting all the sound your computer is making to the left/right speaker and not the other one. So drag the bar to the middle of them, what makes the sound equalize out to the two speakers, goodluck hope this works.

If any speaker plugged into one port on the sound care doesn't work, that port has probably failed.

It wouldn't hurt to unplug the speakers and use some canned air to blow out the sound card's ports just in case there's something (dust, pet hair, etc.) in the port interfering with the contacts.
