graphics card memory

My nephew has a system that uses DDR ram and is concerned, because he wants to upgrade his graphics card, and this uses ddr2 memory. Is this an issue? his mobo is a Dell intel 0F4491 if thats any use. sorry if this sounds numptyish but I was just asking what he said and I have no clue

Ram on a graphics card has nothing to do with ram in his system. There will not be any issues associated with one to the other.

Hes about to spend £80 on an (AGP) MSI 256mb 7600GT. Is it any good do you think or can you suggest a better one for his money?

Not bad but the 7800 GS would be better. And the manufacturer I like better than MSI. See the one below:

You are absolutely right! The EVGA 7800GS is a really good card. I had one in a system that I sold to a friend and it had great graphics and played all the games that I had at the time with no problems. He will love that card.
