Weird Pop-up

Hi all, I just got this pop-up twice in quick succession and I've never seen it before.

The heading is:Website Verified by an Unknown Authority

Unable to verify the identity of partner.microsoft.com as a trusted site
It goes on to give me choices as to what I want to do....etc

I decided to post it here as I was on this site when it appeared.

Unless you got the popup on a microsoft web site, it would probably be better not to click on it. If you don't have a pop-up blocker, both yahoo and google have free tools bars for IE browser each equiped with a pop-up blocker.

Trouble is, wolflmg, I am browsing exclusively with Firefox version 1.5.0.1 which I think has its' own pop-up blocker (I don't see any pop-ups normally, anyway)

charger56: I have all the usual anti-spyware tools (Adaware,Spybot, MS Anti-spyware,Spywareblaster, etc.....All up-dated)

no. its not spyware. its a certificate.

browsers verify websites to make sure that they belong to who they say they belong to. There's probably some content on the site that doesn't verify right. You could just accept it for the session without any negative consequences.
