Computer Upgrading Questions

I need some help! =P

I'm considering upgrading my PC and i've been looking around for cheap parts. What i'm looking to upgrade is my processor (right now i have a PIII @ 600mHz..haha). Im looking at these processors..cuz they're pretty cheap:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...Fencoding=UTF8
P4 3.0 gHz....(not THAT cheap)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...Fencoding=UTF8
Celeron D 2.8 gHz

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...Fencoding=UTF8
Celeron D 3.06 gHz

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...Fencoding=UTF8
Athlon 64 3000+ @ 1.8 gHz (can be overclocked to 2.5)

So my questions are...

what will i need to change in order to upgrade processors? I'm thinking i'm gonna need to upgrade my motherboard (currently IBM 847670U), possibly my case, and then if i change my motherboard i dont know if my RAM will be compatible or not (SDRAM).

and if i do need a new MB, what should i buy...?

You need to decide somethings before anyone can suggest a mobo and yes you will need a new one.
You will be happiest with the Amd and yes you will need new ram as DDR ram is very different. So you need a mobo processor and ram. If you want to carry old hard drives forward be careful because most newer boards take serial hard drives which are completely different from older ide hard drives and you need to be certain new mobo has 2 ide slots for 4 ide devices if you want to move old drives forward.

hm..yea..i'm gonna be needing SATA drives. All my HDs in both computers use ribbon cables..yikes.

So that raises another question...will i also need to buy a new power supply that's compatible with the HDs?

this is the type of connector i have wiht my current power supply:

Sata drives usually come with convertors that will use those plugs but the odds are that you will need more power anyway and also the newer extra 4 pin connector an older psu used for PIII would most likely not have.
