What's Your Favourite

Netscape browser, is it the actual Netscape browser itself, or a "clone"?

Why do you like the browser, and why do you prefer it to any other?

Is it really better than any IE browser or "clone"?

What are the advantages to Netscape browsers, compared to IE browsers?

What are the disadvantages to Netscape browsers, compared to IE browsers?

If I was to download a Netscape browser, which one should it be?

Is there anything out there that may even be better?

Just a few thoughts..Personally I use netscape (ns) every once in a while as with the other browsers. My suggestion will to download Mozilla instead of netscape because of all of the stuff aol adds to it. It is the same browser otherwise. It takes a little time to get rid of all of the aol shortcuts netscape installs on the computer. I still run across shortcuts every once in a while under my start. As far as other disadvantages, only the ones caused by microsoft. Netscape is truer to the standards of webdesign so there will be pages NS will not be able to view properly because of poor coding or the use of Microsoft Frontpage in the designing of webpages. I also believe that ns is a dying browser since AOL will no longer support it for their services.

I like aol but unfortunately I have to use msie because I visit a couple of security sites that will not accept ns.

I also suggest looking at Opera - I like it even better than Ns.

Mozilla 1.5. Fast, stable and none of the security problems that IE has.

I've never used IE and hope I never have to.

Lots of people prefer Mozilla Firebird, but I'll stick with 1.5 because the email client is included instead of having to be installed separately as with Firebird.

Nescape is too bloated now, but I do still have old 4.6 on my computer. I use it for the one or 2 sites that have problems with Mozilla.

There is also a preferences toolbar for Mozilla that will "emulate" IE if a site requires it. I used it to download some W98 updates at the Microsoft site. It sure worked there.
