8.1

I installed Windows 8 and did all the updates, then went to the store to download 8.1. But the store said this page is no longer available. Any suggestions?

Appreciate the idea Dan, but I already made that disc a while ago. This is a computer that had Windows 8 install from the recovery. I'm just wondering if 8.1 is no longer available on Windows 8 computers.

then I am not sure the context of your question? what store? old page or is there a new page? what do you mean by "not available on win 8 computers?" I mean if you have the iso, then it is available. are you talking about auto upgrading 8 to 8.1 since you did a restore?

I did a new install using the laptops recovery. The Store is one of the icons on the Metro screen. It is normally where I do the 8.1 update.

Thanks Murf. I hit that link after I started this thread, used that technique and darned if the updates failed (reverted after a reboot). I had used the factory recovery, which probably has problems, so opted to start over and am installing Windows from a disk.
