Howdy ZachDavis,
There is some infection showing there, so let's start some steps to remove that. Please do the following. Download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite from here and install it. After installation, double-click the icon on your Desktop to launch Ewido. On the top of the main screen click Shield. Then click the word active to change it to inactive. You will need to also update Ewido to the latest definition files. On the top of the main screen click Update. Then click on Start Update. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed. If you have problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update Ewido. Now close Ewido (don't scan just yet). Restart your computer and download SmitfraudFix.zip from here. Unzip it to your desktop and doubleclick on smitfraudfix.cmd. Choose Option 1 and hit Enter to generate a report about the infected files. Please save the Log (it will save to C:\rapport.txt) and post it here. |

The infection showed in the HijackThis as possibly being partly removed, but no items at all seem to have been found in that scan. Was that the first scan of that done? Do you use the name Visitor as your logon there, by the way? Let's go ahead with a full scan anyway to be sure.
Reboot into Safe Mode (at startup tap the F8 key and select Safe Mode). Open the SmitfraudFix Folder, then double-click smitfraudfix.cmd file to start the tool. Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press Enter. Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish. You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?" answer Yes by typing Y and hit Enter. The tool will also check if wininet.dll is infected. If a clean version is found, you will be prompted to replace wininet.dll. Answer Yes to the question "Replace infected file ?" by typing Y and hit Enter. A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process, if you computer does not restart automatically please do it yourself manually. Reboot in Safe Mode. The tool will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply. Make sure all windows are closed and run Ewido. Click Scanner, then click on the Scan tab. Click Complete System Scan to begin scanning. When the scan is complete click Recommended Action and change it to Quarantine. Then click Apply all actions. Once the scan has finished, click the Save report button, then click Save Report As. This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again. Then reboot back to Normal Mode. Post the second log (C:\rapport.txt) and your Ewido log please, along with a new HijackThis scan. Also Go Here and download Silent Runners to your desktop. Run it, and post back here the log it creates. If your AV queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious. It will create a file named Startup Programs, and will notify when the scan is complete. Copy the log from the Startup Programs file back here. You can use separate posts here if needed. |
