"Access Is Denied" when starting .msi file
Whenever i download and launch a .msi file, I get the "Access Is Denied" pop up error.
I have tried redownloading the file many times, so i'm really not sure whats up. From what I found on google, I made sure Windows Installer Service is started, and restarted it a few times. I know the service depends on RPC, and made sure that was started.. I have redownloaded windows installer, but it says its all ready installed.. This does happen on a wide range of msi files, so it's not just the one.. Edit: Tried rebooting in safe mode and making sure i had privileges to access it, no luck. Help? Yes, and when i rebooted in safe mode I used the hidden Administrator account.
I'm the only user on this computer, so I should have rights |

Hah~!~!
Fixed it, suppose google does have all the answers... If you have a few hours! Anyone else has this error, go here http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm Get the .MSI one, and run it. Should fix it up. |

Hmmm interesting.
This leads me to put a related sort of questions. How to delete protected files in XP. Even if I change the attributes and remove read only protection it imediately reverts to it's orriginal read only status. Result impossible to delete. How does one get arround that? And again I'm the only user on the PC M |
