Unhappy Disabled Task Manager

I think I accidently downloaded some malware cause everytime I reboot, and try to look at the task manager(Ctrl, Alt, Del) it says "Task manager has been disabled by administator" I am logged on as administrator. I have to manually go into group policy screen to manually fix it every time I boot up. Also the internet seems slow, but it could just be my wireless today.

Hello FloridaRican

Your HJT log is showing a bit of infection,so lets clear out that infection first with these steps:

Right click Here and download taskmanager.reg to your desktop (Save Target/Link As), then click on the downloaded file, and allow it to merge with the registry. This should restore Task Manager function (may require reboot for all changes to apply).

Next:
Please download Ewido Anti-Malware:

Install Ewido Anti-Malware
Double-click the icon on Desktop to launch Ewido

You will need to update Ewido to the latest definition files.

On the top of the main screen click Shield
Click the word active to change it to inactive
On the top of the main screen click Update.
Then click on Start Update. The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
I also recommend changing the "Update interval" to something more reasonable like 12 hours.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update Ewido
When you have finished updating, EXIT Ewido. Do not run a scan yet.

Restart your computer and download SmitfraudFix.zip from here

Unzip it to your desktop and doubleclick on smitfraudfix.cmd.

Choose Option 1 and hit Enter to generate a report about the infected files. Please save the Log (it will save to C:\rapport.txt) and post it here.

Post these logs:rapport.txt

When downloaded ewido, immediately found "downloader.Tibs.fu, I had it quarantined and didn't scan computer yet.

I completed a number of transactions with my credit card and ask if there is reason for me to be concerned? The downloader infection gave a brief description of some sort of backdoor infection.

Here's the rapport file:

Hello FloridaRican

OK,looking good so far, continue with these steps, is your task manager working alright now ?

Boot into Safe Mode (see here) and double-click on smitfraudfix.cmd file to start the tool.

Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press Enter.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.
You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?" answer Yes by typing Y and hit Enter.
The tool will also check if wininet.dll is infected. If a clean version is found, you will be prompted to replace wininet.dll. Answer Yes to the question "Replace infected file ?" by typing Y and hit Enter.

The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.

A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process, if you computer does not restart automatically please do it yourself manually. Reboot in Safe Mode.

The tool will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

NEXT:
Still in Safe Mode, load Ewido with it's updated definitions (...it's important that all windows must be closed)
Click Scanner
Click on the Scan tab
Click Complete System Scan to begin scanning.
When the scan is complete click Recommended Action and change it to Quarantine
Then click Apply all actions
Once finished, click the Save report button, then click Save Report As. This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again (like on the Desktop).

Restart back into Normal Mode

Please perform another scan with HijackThis, and then post back with a copy of the Ewido log and the new HijackThis log.

Post these logs:
second rapport.txt report
Ewido log
New HJT log

Hello FloridaRican

I would think no. But to put yourself at ease, you could change your important passwords.(Online banking,E-mail etc.)

Please continue with these steps:

Go
here and download ATF cleaner.
Use it to remove all Temp Files, Cookies and Temp Internet Files and any others that you would like to remove.Click on the downloaded file to run it, and select "Select All", then click Empty Selected and repeat process till ATF cleaner has freed 0 bytes (and close ATF).

If you also use Opera or Firefox, also click on the cleaning options for each browser

Then Go here for an online AV scan (requires IE to run).

Scan "Local Disks" and when finished save the scan log and then post the log here

And Go Here and download Silent Runners to your desktop. Run it, and post back here the log it creates. If your AV queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious. It will create a file named Startup Programs, and will notify when the scan is complete. Copy the log from the Startup Programs file back here.

Post these:
silentrunners log
panda log

Hello FloridaRican

The Silent Runners log is not complete (you didnt wait for Silent Runners to finish scanning). Please run it again but this time, wait for the popup that tells you scanning has finished and repost the log. Thank You

Hello FloridaRican

SpywareBlaster will help to prevent spyware and tracking cookies from installing on your computer.

Please download SpywareBlaster here and save it to your desktop. When the download is finish, you will want to navigate to the folder on your desktop, double click on it to install the program. Follow the prompts and choose the default locations when installing the program. When the program is done installing,it will place an icon on your desktop.

To enable protection for all database items:
Open SpywareBlaster
Click on the "Enable All Protection" link under Quick Tasks
Exit the program - you're done!

SpywareBlaster need not remain open for its protection to be active!
Simply use the Check for Updates feature at least once a week to download the latest protection.

As you are about to make registry changes, you will need to backup the registry to have if needed. Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup (not to a temp folder). Close the Registry Editor.

Code:
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\Run]
"{B82C71F4-0BEE-1033-0410-030304090001}"=-

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{B82C71F4-0BEE-1033-0410-030304090001
Open Notepad and copy and paste the above text (inside the box) into the text file. Now go to File > Save As and call it fixer.reg. Where it says "Files of Type", select All Files and click on Save. Exit Notepad, double-click on the file and ok the prompt asking if you wish to merge the file with your registry.

Also please post a new SilientRunners log.Thank you

Hello FloridaRican

There are a few more items to clean up in your log, please follow these steps.Thank you

Download Killbox from here, unzip the file to your Desktop and have it ready to use.

Close Internet Explorer and all open windows and run a scan in HijackThis.

Place a check next to all of the following lines:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [kdx] C:\WINDOWS\kdx\khost.exe

then select “Fix Checked” and close HijackThis

Enable hidden files & folders Here..reverse the process when finished

Run Killbox and select the below files (including filepath) with your mouse, rightclick and choose Copy. Insert your mouse pointer within the box entitled "Full Filepath of File to Delete", rightclick again and choose File > Paste from Clipboard. All the files should now appear in the box (click on the Tab and check to make sure that only the files I have identified as malware and marked for deletion are there). If each file exists, it will appear in blue under that window when you click on it. Click on Delete on Reboot. You will get a message saying "File with be deleted on next reboot, click "Yes". Process and Reboot now?" Click "Yes" to reboot.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\{B82C71F4-0BEE-1033-0410-030304090001}\services.dll

Reboot your PC in normal mode.

If you would please,Post a fresh HJT log and a SilentRunners log in this same topic, and let us know how your system's working
