Windows may be on your hard drive but you will need the product key to install it.

type in c:WIN98 then type in setup or setup.exe

Hi. I turned the computer on and it made noices and had this message prompted on the screen, "Operating System Not Found" I could tap F10 to enter BIOS but it wouldn't boot. Where do I go from here to type c:\WIN98 and setup?

Sincerely,

No, I don't have one. It didn't come with the laptop when I purchsed it from Best Buy.

Ok go here and get the Windows98 OEM. It will fit on a floppy so save it to a floppy.

Hi. I finally bought a new computer. I'm glad to be back. I still got problems to solve with the Compaq notebook and HP Pavilion notebook. Both of them crashed....sigh...sigh....

Well, now I can boot the Compaq. It's in A:>

I did c: dir and saw few folders and files on c:. I don't see any folder named Win98 though.

So from here how do I make it boot to the Window screen?

Thanks a lot.

Sincerely,
