Files in re - cycle bin.

XP Pro.

I never used the Office - so decided to remove it from my computer.
Word left with it!!!

I now have a Norton protected re cycle bin. Unfortunately, things in there are not in plain English - as they were in the normal bin.
So, I am afraid I don't know what I am looking for - if it is in there!!!!!

Is there any help available re. this?

Hi Emm, the files will not be in your Recycle Bin I am afraid. You will have to reinstall Office or use your Office installation disk to do a custom reinstall of Word.

Thanks AnnMarie - this is where the problem is - I don't have the disk.
I had XP Pro put on a year ago, and am no longer in touch with the man who did it for me.

I didn't use Word much - and have installed Jarte - which seems good. But, inserting pictures can be a bif iffy!!!!

Hi Emm, if you are not 100% happy with Jarte, you could try Open Office. It's freeware and compatible with most MS Office programs.

Thanks AnnMarie, I shall take a look at that.

I have got rid of Jarte, because I found a better program - which I am sure I found via a link from this site, somewhere.
It is AbiWord.
And is very good.
There is no problem with inserting pictures.

Excellent. AbiWord looks like a nice program Emm. Thanks for posting back with your opinion of it. I am sure your post will help someone else.

Well, it was only when this problem arose, that I discovered that not everyone uses - or is happy with - Word.
So, it is nice when anyone can recommend a program.
