Still no responses

It hasn't quite been 24 hours since I posted http://www.cybertechhelp.com/forums/...ad.php?t=80371
but now the problem has gotten to the point where 3 out of 4 times that I try to get on-line to even check to see if anyone has replied, this bug won't even let me go to a page; everything comes up "page not found" or "action cancelled". Then I have to reboot and go through the whole process over again. And even on that rare time that it lets me get to a page, I have a few seconds to use it, before it cuts me off with its massive data transfer. I had to type this up in Notepad first, to be able to cut-and-paste it in here. Aaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh!!!!!!!

Another problem is that I've heard that it's important to back up my registry before going in to Regedit. But apparently WinXP Home Edition doesn't have registry backup installed; you have to do it from the CD. Well, I bought this computer used, on eBay, and it didn't come with the disk. So far as I can tell, I cannot back up this registry, unless there's some trick I'm unfamiliar with. Even if I can't back up the registry, I'd be willing to try editing the registry, if only I knew exactly what needed to be done. That's why I've asked for help here.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
