MS Office "Outlook" 2003- Help Retrieve Account
Hello & Greetings To All!
Situation: I had an issue/problem with my MS Word 2003. In order to correct this problem, I clicked the help/detect & repair button in Word, however, doing so I lost my "Outlook account/pop3". I had to then prepair a new account thus losing all of my emails and files that I had with that account. Note: The new pop3 email account I created has the same email information as the previous account (i.e., email username, password, etc.) I already tried to retrieve my emails by: Tools/email accounts/view or change existing email accounts; but was unsuccessful. Can someone please tell me how I can retrieve my old email from my previous account? I have some quite valuable information which I need A.S.A.P! I THANK everyone who reads this and proposes or gives a solution! Last edited by JimmyLoveNYC; May 16th, 2005 at 08:25 PM. |

Outlook keeps all its data (messages, addresses, calendar, etc.) in one pst file.
Run search and type "*.pst" (without the quotes, with the asterisk and dot). It will find all pst files. Hopefully, the new installation of Outlook created a new .pst file. If that's the cast, the largest pst file found is most likely the one with your data in it. Leaving the Search window open so you can refer back to it for file locations, in Outlook, use File>Import and import the data from the largest pst file found. If there are numerous pst files, it's a matter of trial and error, pointing Outlook's Import to each in turn until you hit the right one. |

Hello Miz:
I ran a search for *.pst files but "No" .pst files were found. Is that kind of weird? Or should I have .pst files regardless of Outlook creating them or not? If so, can it be that I typed (*.pst)(without parenthesis) incorrectly? Thanks for your assistance thus far. You are really great help! |

Miz, do you have any other suggestions? Or does anyone have any suggestions concerning the problem I've encountered with my deleted email account (please see above)?
Thanks in advance for your time and sharing knowledge! |

Problem resolved!
Due to slow boot-time and overall sluggishness of my pc I performed a "complete system recovery" and obviously in the process my outlook application is working great!
Problem resolved, although I lossed all important info.! |
