Mint 16 Cinnamon

G'day Folks.
I am having a problem with my Mint 16 Cinnamon desktop screen.
I am using DELL-INSPIRON-N5110 laptop.

I am using the default Mint 16 workspace background.
When I go to the 'top left corner' to look at my workspaces.
They apear, each workspace with 2 backgrounds on it. The left-hand one is the normal rectangular size and the right-hand one is the same height but 2/3 in width.

My curser touches the left, top and bottom of the screen and stops (just likes it is supposed to.
But, the curser dissapears off the right hand side of the screen.

I went into 'displays' and it showed me a 'laptop screen (16:9)' and an 'unknown screen(4:3)'.
I turned off the 'unknown screen' and the workspaces returned to normal.

Except that the screen colour is now faded-wishy-washy looking.

It suddenly appeared out of nowhere about 2 months ago.
I have reinstalled and it came back in by default.

Does anybody have any idea what is happening?

I do NOT have any other monitors connected to my laptop.

Good thinking. Thanks. I had forgotten.

Trouble is. Now that I have installed them. It has made no difference.
