just so you know, most of today's newer games will not run too well on either of those two rigs. Browsing and chatting and "work" will all be completely fine, though. :P

personally I would go with the first rig just because it's an AMD based machine and I am biased. :0)

Put that extra 70 you save in an envelope and save up alittle more and land yourself a decent video card and you'll be set.

Id go for the first one. It has more RAM and faster RAM. Do you already have a monitor, keyboard, mouse etc etc?

Actualy wait it doesn't have an agp or pci-e graphics slot. That might be a problem if you are interested in games. You can get PCI graphics cards though. So if it was a choice of these pc's i would go for the first one you mentioned.

I do have a monitor/mouse/keyboard. The 2nd one has a faster processing speed though(2.80Ghz).Wouldnt that make a huge difference between how fast games would run? It does have a 16X DVD+/-RW so i guess that is also a benifit.I dont think any of them have an AGP slot so i would have to find a good PCI graphics card in the future. So i guess my question is, even with 1.8Ghz, it is still an O.K pc?

Well of course I would not take either but if I had to, I would go with the Dell.
Neither appears to have Agp or pci express slot which is the major reason I wouldn't take them. This means you are doomed to few games as even a pci video card isn't much of a plus and remember you only have a few pci slots.
My real problem is Amd Sempron with Sis chipset. You could not pay me enough to run a Sis chipset either it's pure junk! Also the first one doesn't mention brand of mobo, I can just imagine what utter junk that is makes an EMachine probably into Nieman Marcus top shelf by comparison. At least with Dell I know they only use Intel...rather see you buy older PIII with some decent components than either of these.
Check the Dell Outlet. I'll bet you can find a nice P4 for the same price...

Thanks for knocking some sense into me. Im getting so caught up on getting a new computer and im not thinking too much about the mobo and other components. I guess that if i went with the Dell i would have to buy another graphics card soon after for gaming. I wish that i could take out the monitor that is included and save that money to help pay for somthing else (new graphics card/ more RAM). I also wish it didnt come with all that software which i probably wont use( good way to charge extra $). Anyways, thanks for all the help guys.
