Please help - Adobe run prgrams won't open and websites close when I try to open them

Hello all:

I am new to this forum, but have received expert assistance in the past in your Cyber Safety forum. My CPU is giving me some real headaches - I am unable to open any files that require Adobe Acrobat - Initially, I had version 6.0 and nothing seemed to be wrond, but one day I was unable to open Adobe files anymore. Basically, I get a Windows error message telling me to end the program. I tried uninstalling Adobe and re-installed version 7.0. Unfortunately, I still have the same problem and am unable to view Adobe files.

Additionally, I have trouble viewing particular internet sites at all. The one site that sticks out in my mind is Hotels.com. For whatever reason, whenever I try accessing that particular site, my browser simply shuts down. This happens everytime that I try to access the site.

I am not very computer literate, so please speak in layman's terms when you respond. I have run HiJackThis and continue to run AdAwareSE on a consistent basis - I'm not sure if these programs are relevant to my questions, but I have attached a copy of my HiJackThis log, which follows:

Degs:

I have used the Cyber Safety forum in the past to help remove some trojans from my laptop. They did give me a clean bill of health, but I am writing today regarding my Desktop, which I have not sought any help in the past for. I hope that helps clear up some of the confusion.

Cheers,

Andy

I would recommend that you post a new HJT log in the Cyber Safety forum

http://degs.cybertechhelp.com/files/hijackthis.exe

Try uninstalling Acrobat, then run a Registry cleaner such as Regclean or Ace Utilities
Then try installing version 6 from the Adobe site.

Also try updating Java
