Windows XP Won't boot from Boot Device Menu

Windows XP Won't boot from Boot Device Menu

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Computer will not boot from F12 Boot Device Menu. Pressing the Enter key on any of the four boot choices 1.-Normal
2.-Diskette Drive
3.Hard-Disk Drive C:
4.IDE CD-Rom Device
There is no response.

I receive the following message after hitting Ctrl Alt Delete 3 times........

Previous attempts at booting have failed at checkpoint [ cMPT ]
Any help would be appreciated Thanks John

Also, computer boots ok by pressing on button
