Recomendations on Network.
alright at my work, im also the tech guy there.
we are getting ready to build a server for our shop. this server will hold all the data, for jobs and payroll and the job orders. We have a total of 6 xp computers + 1 mac pro. and 2 win98/2000 machines. so 9 computers and the server. what would be the best way to connect all the computers? i figured it would be a 12 port switch, and connect the internet to the uplink port. or shud i just another 2 routers? |

i would recommend one router and one switch for your network
if you believe your company is going to expand in the near future then i would recommned you getting a 48 port switch. be sure to know how to configure the router for sercuity reasons as well as making it safe for all workers to access apporiate sites |

You really don't ever want to have more than one router within an office.
