External Display Not Recognized VGA to USB

Hi,

I have tried solutions from many help videos on how to resolve my issue.

Laptop with one external monitor connected HDMI to HDMI.

I wanted to add another external monitor using VGA cable with adapter to USB.

It is not being recognized.

I've tried to update drivers, change settings to not shut down ports, force to detect new hardware, and on and on.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Carol

Another approach you could use is to buy an HDMI splitter and connect both the additional monitors by HDMI. Something like one of these.

I can't use an HDMI splitter because that only allows the same identical screen to be seen on both external monitors.

I need to have my laptop, and two external monitors to all be individual and different.

I have a lot of windows open for my work.

I have one HDMI port and usbs.

Two identical hp monitors. One is connected with straight HDMI to HDMI port.

The other one is NOT recognized on device manager using VGA with adapter to USB.

Would really appreciate any help.

the usb port is not part of your graphic adapter on your laptop. You may be able to use a dual hdmi adaptor.

The following is an example,

I ordered the above, and it's working.

BUT...

Anytime I open Disney Plus to play a video, the screen using the above adapter goes dark.

When playing YouTube, it's fine.

But if I play Disney Plus, it goes out.

It goes out on Amazon Prime Video too!

Any ideas?

what about plutotv or tubitv - both are free? My first thought is there is a drm issue and there's nothing you can do about it.
