Slow computer, Freezes now and again

Hi,

As the title suggests, my pc is a bit slow when loading pages or clicking on photos.

Also, when I right click (to create a new folder) on the desktop screen (it freezes).

Any help would be appreciated,

Cheers

Ian

please give full computer model number or specifics. How full is the harddrive? Try doing a windows disk cleanup.

Thanks Dan.

I do do regular disk clean ups tbh.

My PC is a HP 411-a000na x64.

Still got 634gb free of 918gb.

Cheers,

Ian

a few things to try...

try opening the case and make sure it is dust free. also check all connections. When you click on photos, what is the default utility? Check with hp and make sure you have all of their updates for that specific computer model, also you can run their diagnostic utility to see if there are any issues. Finally, run your computer in safemode to see if it is still slow

Hi Dan, for some reason, the update icon for HP wasn't showing in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. In all fairness, I don't use the desktop as much as I used to as I use my phone to do a lot of online stuff these days (although I was getting sick of my wife shouting "This computer's dead slow" on the rare occasions she used it).

Anyway, after getting in touch with HP, updating and then running various diagnostic checks, everything seems to be fine now and the new folder issue has been resolved.

Thanks for your help,

Much appreciated,

Ian

Slow Laptop

The laptop I bought recently from a friend has been surprisingly slow which I am sure isn't supposed to be.

I found this guide to fin on windows 10 so I could delete them and make my computer become faster because my friend had not formatted the computer be handing it over to me.

Unfortunately for me, it's still slow.

What can I do?
