starting to get random freezes & failed boot ups

Hi, its been a long time but i was hoping you would be able to shed some light on whats happening to my desktop to cause it randomly crash and then give me the blue screen during boot up. its been happening if i play a game or shut the game down, but it'll also happen whilst watching you tube / twitch etc.

its been running perfectly stable for such a long time i cant even remember where to start trouble shooting.

in event viewer im getting a lot of
Distributed COM error 10016
HttpEvent error 15300
a few
Kernal-Power error 41
and the occasional
BTHUSB error 5

any advice you could offer will, as always be much appreciated

thanks

A good starting point would be to check for overheating. Turn it off, remove the plug from the wall open the case, clean dust from filters and inside the case. With the covers off and keeping your hands out, plug it in turn on and check the fans are working.

Once that's done put the case on and others will guide you through those error messages.

Well it involves changing the registry, before following these steps I would back up the registry first.

Basically the same:

https://trickyfi.com/fix-event-id-10016/

But this one sounds simpler:

ok, so as i move through the list of fixes i am missing multiple things in teh registry, so im thinking id rather reset windows and save any more needle in teh haystack searches.... however when i have come to do this i cant as for some reason when it asks me to enter my password to continue int eh WRE it says the password is wrong. but i only have won live.com password and no password set up to login to windows. any idea what is going on here because it seems to be tricky to find any info about it when i google this issue.

thanks

hi murf, sorry for the slow reply, i know you're busy so may miss this after this amount of time went past. i do have a Microsoft account, only one .live password, i use it whenever i have to login to live services but it doesn't work when i try to do the repair side of things which is weird. i read something about local or global? accounts, but i only have the one..

just out of interest my pc is now doing errors from discs being surprised removed to dpc watchdog violation.

would it just be easier to reinstall windows at this point? the event viewer is still full of distribute com warnings as well, even though i went through the various fixes.

cheers pal
