Did the problems start when you first got the laptop or just recently?

Hello psalm, since the lappy came with Windows 10, and it worked Ok one first receiving it, we will assume the drivers are OK. Have you done any Windows update just before it acted up?
Lets try SAFE Mode and see if it runs OK.

Hey Murf, Thanks for lending a hand.
It might have started right when we got it. (I think it did). So not sure about the drivers. In safe mode it would not let me access the internet (I did with networking F5). WIFI and most windows apps wont work. Says: This app cant open Cant be opened using the built in administrator account. Sign in with a different account and try again. Dont have any other logins. So I was not able to test chrome. However I did try malewarebytes. It worked, Paying more attention, I think it does taker longer to crash when I first start my computer, but once it does crash, it keeps crashing very quickly. So I checked, the outside of the laptop does NOT seem hot, and the fan is working. |

Hum, since it isn't that old I would Reset it.
Reset this PC in Windows 10. To get started, go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery. Then click the Get started button under the Reset this PC section. Then you will have two options: Keep your files or remove everything — settings, files, apps. Note that whichever option you pick, you’ll still need to reinstall all of your apps and desktop programs, and reconfigure your settings. And some computers will give you the option to restore your PC to factory settings. If you haven't installed any programs that did not come with it, unless you have the DVD's then I would restore if given that option. What I mean is a refresh keeps all your files, pictures etc., but not programs that you installed after getting the laptop. You would have to reinstall them. |

I reset windows keeping my files.
On the first restart after install it would not open windows, said something about an error with drivers and needs to restart (It restarted automatically before I was able to write down the error message). On the second restart everything started correctly. I installed chrome. opened it, but did not navigate to any web pages. Came back a few min later and saw the crash message (A problem caused the program to stop working correctly...). |

Psalm, have you ever contacted Dell about the problems? Also did you get restore discs from them when you bought the computer, I asked you this before, but you didn't answer.

I did not contact Dell about it as I purchased it for a present for my wife when it was on sale, but gave it to her over 90 days later. So they would not take it back.
I see 1 CD it came with: Windows 10 install. It says clearly on the CD that it does not include the drivers. |

Well something is wrong with the installed Windows. You indicated:
Sometimes windows pop up saying like: malewarebytes anti malware has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Did you purchase malewarebytes or is it the free version. I would stop all programs running in the background and see if that helps at all, one of them could be causing the problem. Left Click on start button (little flag) then go to SETTINGS then click on PRIVACY Icon in the Settings Window Scroll down to the bottom of the list and select “Background apps.” You’ll see a list of apps that have permission to run in the background with an “On/Off” toggle. The default setting for each app is “On,” allowing each app to run in the background if it likes. Set any apps you don’t want to run in the background to “Off.” Bear in mind that there’s a downside to this. If you prevent the Alarms app from running in the background, for example, any alarms you set won’t go off. If you prevent the Mail app from running in the background, it won’t notify you of new emails. Apps normally run in the background to update their live tiles, download new data, and receive notifications. If you want an app to continue performing these functions, you should allow it to continue running in the background. If you don’t care, feel free to prevent the app from running in the background. You can still use the app normally, but you may have to wait for it to fetch new data after you launch it. But for this drill disable all, then reboot lets see if the problem stops. |

It's good that you have the Windows 10 CD, because you can always use that to reinstall the operating system.

It was the free version of malwarebytes.
(that message comes up when I am running a malwarebytes scan. Chrome does not even always pop up the message, sometimes just disappears/crashes). Disabled all background apps. Restarted. Still crashing. Jill: That is the correct series. Is there anywhere in the start menu possibly listed under Dell where it says Diagnostics that you can click on to run some tests? |

Theres a windows troubleshooter - that did not detect any problems. Theres also a Dell hardware troubleshooter that runs before windows starts - which did not detect any problems either.
Its interesting that windows itself does not crash. Its only the programs being used that crash. |

It's really strange. What antivirus program are you using, and is that the only antivirus program on the computer?

The computer came with Mcafee.
I had also run Malrewarebytes but it came up with nothing. I uninstalled mcafee yesterday to see if that helps. |

Did uninstalling McAfee help at all?
