Help please with flash

As yall know, most web sites require flash player in order to get the most from the site.I have gone to adobe numerous times and tried to download the latest player and when it gets to the page that says the install was complete when you see the movie playing above playing,it just stays there with nothing happening, much less plays a movie. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?I would really appreciate the help.Thank You,Robin

Are you running any programs that might block flash from appearing? Such as a firewall, virus scanner, or pop-up blocker?

As best I can tell the pop up blocker was off and I had stopped the antivirus and anti spyware from running each time I tried to install the player.I don't know of anything that would stop it unless something is running that I'm not aware of.Can that happen?
Thank you for helping
Robin

Yes, spyware does it all the time. But I don't think that's what's causing this.
