How to save Adobe Flash movies
I would appreciate it if somebody can tell me if there is a way to save Adobe Flash movies that I have viewed online.
I'm using Windows 7 64 bit and IE8. |

Thanks, I googled before I posted the question, and tried something called an Adobe Flash plugin, but that didn't help.
This is the flash movie I want to download so I can put it on a DVD. http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/video...93214&c_id=nyy |

The success of a search is dependent on the search terms you use. I don't know what terms you used but I used "save flash video" and got about 72 million hits.
Check out these results. Somewhere in there is bound to be something you can use. |

Thanks Miz, I googled how to download Adobe Flash movies, and came up with lots of hits also, but still was unable to figure out how to save the particular movie I linked to in my answer to peterm69. I'll take a look at what you came up with, and hopefully I can figure it out.

I just checked the site and the Firefox extension DownloadHelper appeared to be able to download the file in mp4 format.

Thanks Rockboy.
I'm using Internet Explorer 8, and I see on the page you linked to that they offer something for IE. Do you think this would work for me? This is my first try at downloading Adobe Flash movies so I need all the help I can get. http://www.dh4e.com/ |

Rockboy
I went ahead and downloaded and installed the helper for Internet Explorer, but each time I tried to open Internet Explorer after that I got a message that IE wasn't responding. I've never had a problem with IE before so I wound up doing a system restore and everything is back to normal now. I think I'll just forget about trying to download those movies. Thanks again to you, Peterm,69 and Miz for trying to help. |

I didn't know they had something to use with IE. I use Firefox and have no problems. You could install Fx and the DLH addon if it's worth the effort. (If you start using Firefox, you might not go back. )

Thanks for all the encouragement, but right now I'm going to forego trying to download those flash movies. In a few weeks I may try again though so please stay tuned.

On a basic level you can watch the video online then copy it from you temp folder.
or use a different browser for the sole purpose of saving the files. |

Thanks Degsy. I had a little medical problem that I had surgery for today so right now I'm not in the mood for experimenting. Hopefully in a few days I'll feel better, my head will be clearer and I might possibly try that.

Thanks Smurfy.
If I download Opera would you mind walking me through how to go about finding and saving that same video? I have VLC Media Player also. I mainly want to burn the file to a dvd to watch it on TV so can you tell me after downloading it through Opera if I would need to convert it using another application to make viewing it on TV possible? |
