Unhappy Sleep Mode

I have Win98 SE. My keyboard has a button for sleep mode. It is a half moon. Glows green most of time. I try to use it to put pc in sleep mode but can't get it to work. I know I can go to start menu etc to put on standby but was wondering why for some reason my key on keyboard won't work. Do I have to set it. I looked in my manual and it states that I just press.......Thanks:no:

Is your keboard software installed? If not then the Sleep button probably wont work. With my Old HP, I had to have the Exact drivers for that keyboard for it to work properly.

Take a look in the device manager. Right Click the My computer Icon and choose properties, then device manager tab. Look at your keyboard and see what is listed in there.

Question re: sleep moade

Hi Dodge: In Device Manager, Keyboard shows:

Standard 101/102 Key or Microsoft Natural Board. It's a Compaq PC. It is same keyboard that came with my machine. Thanks for your quick response...

Hi moon15431

Dodge is correct, I had the same problem with a Compaq 5190
I had to go to the Compaq Support site and download the
Easy Access Keyboard drivers.

Definately go to Compaq's site and look for drivers for that keyboard or post the exact Model of Compaq here and we'll help you look for them.

What has happened is Windows has installed standard generic Keyboard drivers and they aren't actually designed for your keyboard.... (Atleast that is what I'm guessing is the problem)
