Malware on WIndows 7-64 bit

My dad clicked on a link that installed some nasty malware on his computer. It redirects me every time I try to do a Google search. I have been running Hitman Pro all morning and there are several files it can't delete and more malware keeps showing up even after it deletes them. I have read about Combo Fix and have it downloaded but don't want to use screw up my dad's system. Can someone help me through it? Any other suggestions?
