Windows XP needs to be the first installed OS, then you can install Ubuntu. Follow this link for advice as to how to dual boot.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WindowsDualBoot

What I'm saying is reinstall ubuntu after Windows xp, Ubuntu will setup a boot loader(GRUB) Then when you boot you can select which OS to boot to.
