It's legit, here's a link to Stanford University about the Folding@home software. It's like that SETI program.

I was looking around Stanford's forums about the FAH program. Do not download this program from any other site, other than Stanford's, as there's versions of it bundled with trojan/malware.

Computing power put to good use is good!

I am runing it now. It seems to cause problems only when trying to play video games. No other problems that I have noticed. It's really easy to exit and then re-start when game time is over, so I'm continuing to run it. Even novices can easily remove it from the start-up folder if manual starting is preferred.

Folding@Home is legit (it's a generic project offshoot of SETI@Home), but I prefer Boinc.

Bravo on helping introduce new people to this program. My little brother was diagnosed with cancer when was just two years old, and has spent most of his life (he is 7 now) under close supervision, or hospitalized. Only in the last two years has he been allowed to play, or interact with other people without being bombarded with medications immediately afterwards. Hopefully with enough CPU power this project can put an end to some of these diseases. You have my kudos.

Mr Bm has just returned from having skin cancer removed from the tip of his nose.. the plastic surgeon was really great and explained everything before hand. A lighter note they had trouble finding a piece of skin for his graft that wasnt hairy........
We will know in 6 months whether it has all been removed.. fingers crossed.
Mr Bm dad died from stomach cancer aged 50 and his mum from breast cancer when he was only 7...
Cancer research is a charity i gladly give to...... well worth while.
They say everyone knows someone who has had some form of cancer.. thats really scary

We all have what's called pre-cancerous cells. It just takes the right carcinegen to have these cells turn into cancer cells. It's one of the curses of being human.
