Installing Windows 10 advice
hi
I want an advice on this My laptop was originally running windows visa and had about 250GB of hard drive. It is quite old, about 7 years old, with 2.2ghz and 4g ram when windows 8 was released, i made a 50gb partition and installed windows 8 on it. So now i am running bot vista and 8.1 I want to upgrade to windows 10 the issue is that i have 1gb free space on the windows 8.1 partition and about 20gb on the vista partition, but my important files are on the vita partition what do you think is the best way to upgrade to windows 10? thanks |

1. Get rid of Vista
2. You cannot dual boot Windows 10 and Windows 8, unless you buy a retail copy of Windows 10. Windows 10 is a upgrade (free right now) to Windows 8., although it does remove Windows 8, it uses it's files for the upgrade. So if you want Windows 10, I would back everything up you need, wipe out Vista. Only problem is any programs you installed with VISTA, that are dependent on Windows, must be re-installed, so that would mean having the original program Cd/DVD's and serial numbers, if required. |
