Desperately Seeking Help
I recently got Microsoft Office 2007, and ever since I installed it I have been unable to use any other programs. MS Word will try to open them and they will just appear as a blank page saying something like "MZ @ ". In addition, the icons for everything are now the same as the ones for documents. Now, my computer even tries to open MS Word with MS Word!

Please help!

Thanks, I think I'm on the right track!

The guide says to delete the UserChoice key by using a REG file or script.

Unfotrunately, I'm one of least technologically savvy people in the world, and I have no ide awhat that means!

Also, it says I can find the UserChoice key under HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ FileExts \ .exe \ UserChoice, but I can't seem to find that, even with search.

Help would be greatly appreciated!

you have to go in the regedit section to find that...

in order to do that do the following

click on start --> run --> (type in) regedit

a window will pop up and do what it say and you'll find Userchoice

Yes and Ramesh has uploaded the file for you to download and run. Scroll down and look at "Attachments". Download it to your Desktop, rightclick on it and choose Merge. Reboot afterwards.

I just wanted to thank you guys so much, my dad was ready to take the computer back to the store, you guys saved us a lot of money and emberassment!
