If you install vista, can u revert back to your old operating system any way?

Will system restore work (and if there are no restore points will a rollbackback work)?

Please help if there are other solutions....thank you

No, From what i know, You cannot refer back to Windows XP or lower.

Be sure to backup your personal documents and if you want to go back please boot XP from the installation CD and format disk within installation.

This is the easyiest solution for this right now, I might think.

Redapple is correct, if you wish to revert i suggest you backup your media files onto an external hdd, flash drive or DVD's.

wow! so once vista is installed, you can't go back with system restore either. (that sucks cause i didn't have a restore point that stated that anyways)

how about a rollback? will that work? probably not but there must be some way to go back maybe some 1 else on this site might know.

Thanks guys.

So i did an upgrade install, and I just back up my files and do a clean install of XP, is that what you guys are suggesting?

I should have just installed it on to a different partition(****)

my suggestion is to do the dual boot thing, if you do not want to lose your xp, install your vista in a separate partition or drive.

i dont really see the point in needing to roll back a driver, if vista has replaced a driver with a vista compatible driver, i dont think rolling back will resolve any issues you may have with the component

You cannot rollback from Vista to XP, Sorry, As renegade600 suggest you to install it on your computer as dual boot.

yeah, I'd suggest backing up anything you want and doing a clean install of xp.
