Angry X-FI sound card speaker output problem

When I test the X-fi sound card in 5.1 the RL and RR sounds come out of the front speakers. Basically the output cable that should only carry FR and FL is carrying other signals. The card is in a Dell XPS 600. Speakers (Klipsch Pro Meida 5.1 Ultras) are working and properly set up. I have tried a different X-fi card. I have switched PCI slots. I have reloaded the Creative software. I have reloaded drivers. I have checked settings. I have disabled the integrated audio in Set up. I have removed software that I think might be in conflict. I have emailed Creative- no response. I have spoken with Dell tech support- working on it! The computer is 7 days old. Everything else works great. Any ideas? Anyone? Thanks
