Intel Pentium Question

Hello. At the below HP page the cheapest processor has an "N" in the model number but I can't find that model with an "N" on the Intel site or an internet search. What does the "N" mean?

Thanks

Hi Matt,

Intel is rather vague as to what "N" means.
Quote:
Processor numbers for the Intel® Atom™ processor family are categorized by a three-digit numerical sequence. Netbook class Intel® Atom™ processors have an alpha prefix of N, and Intel Atom processors with an alpha prefix of Z indicate the processor is for Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs). A higher number within a processor class or family generally indicates more features. A higher processor number may have more of one feature and less of another.
I tried the link you provided, but my NoScript came up, stating that there was a possible bad page redirect.
So, I took the processor number and looked at Intel's site myself for the info.

Does not have the "N" so assuming as Ensign Tzap indicated the "N" is for Netbook class.

Here is the Intel Processor Info Page.
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/...r-numbers.html

It just doesn't give what the higher numbered "N" Processors Features are.
