I get the feeling....

...that some CTH moderator will create a thread on CE2009.01.15-Th regarding my birthday

Is is neccessary that the CTH staff to post a thread on the date of a member's birthday to wish him/her a happy birthday?

It's not necessary and it's not just the staff that post a birthday wish. Any member can post a topic to acknowledge a member's birthday. If you wish you can make your birthday not show on the forum. It's a control panel option. It's probably too late to change it though. Since you've mentioned it, someone will probably post it later anyway.
