blue/ black screen
I started laptop and it went desktop background pickture and nothing else, clicked here and there it went yo blue screen and then black screen. Left it for a bit then it came up blue screen with curser then went black again. Tried googling it and found it annoying that they say go to settings or go to control panel I cant go to anything just seeing blue or black. I have heard that if you remove the battery then replace it that works. For me it,s not an option because to get at battery of Lenovo ideapad 310 you have to dismantle the laptop too hard for me. Any ideas or do I give up on it. Just tried it one more time only getting black screen now.

At the black screen, press and hold the power button until the system powers off. ...
Press 4 to “Enable Safe Mode” as prompted. The PC will now boot to Safe Mode. Enter your user name and password as prompted, to log into Safe Mode. Open the Start screen. Type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter to start Device Manager. Double-click on Display Adapters to expand the Display Adapters category Right-click on the NVIDIA NVS device, and choose “Uninstall” from the menu. At the “Confirm Device Uninstall” prompt, check the box “Delete the driver software for this device” and then click on OK. Restart the PC. The PC will now boot to Windows normally. Enter your user name and password as prompted, to log into your PC. Make sure your internet connection is working, then run Windows Update. Choose to install all available updates. The PC should now be functioning normally. |

wow back on
Thanks Murf it's running again. Briliant. I followed the first steps and it just went to desktop and seems to be working fine. I thought I would follow your instructions and went to device manager and clicked on display adapters what came up was intel(R)HD Graphics 520 no sign of NAVIDEA NVA device. Not sure what to do now? I'm a bit nervous about shutting it down in case it wont start up again I'll let you know how I get on, thanks again.

That laptop came with different versions of the video.
NAVIDEA NVA which you obviously do not have and intel(R)HD Graphics 520 which you have It may got hung up due to your video driver. Glad it is back up and running. In device manager right click on the Graphics (Display) entry then update driver and see if it does, may just come up and say current driver is the latest. If it does, doe the same thing but hit Scan for Hardware changes If it finds nothing then leave it alone. |
