How do I delete personal info before returning my comp (moved from Vista)

Hey all.
I purchased a computer that I am not happy with and need to return. I haven't used it much and I don't think I entered any important personal information. However, since I've only had it for a few weeks this will probably be resold as an open box/used or refurbished unit so I want to make sure I delete all personal files. I don't want to delete any programs since they may not accept the return if I do that. I am running 64 bit vista home premium service pack 1. I already went through and deleted all the temp files, browsing history, recycle bin, etc. Do you know of any program that will permanently delete the personal stuff without deleting the program files. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

There are a few free apps to handle the job. Seeing as you've already started I'd simply defrag then use this app on your free space.

It has many more options which may suit your needs better.

you should have gotten restore disks or have the ability to restore through a hidden partition. I would urge you to do that instead. What model is your computer?

You can delete files but most can be recovered with software easily found online.

The best option would be to: use commercial software like Disk Erase Pro to wipre your drive. Takes a few hours, depending on the drive. Then reinstall the OS with your "Restore Disk" that should've come with your drive. This is safe and secure, but timeconsuming.
