um, just a suggestion, check your ram, see if it's inserted completely and not somewhat dislodged because if it's only some of the way in it will screw up. it's just a thought.

Have you tried starting it without the battery installed, just the AC Adapter?

Sorry I never saw the other thread. Some HP's have a static problem in the start circuit. with the system off, disconnect the ac cord, remove the battery and hold down the start button for 30 seconds. Put the battery back in, reconnect the ac cord. and power up. See if that works I have to do this with my daughters HP laptop every couple of months whenever she starts getting slowdowns or errors start popping up.

check the power connection from the adapter, remove it then push it back in, make sure it's fully seated. You should hear a slight click when it's all the way in.

Ok for anyone who is interested I bought a Targus power adapter for a Gateway I'm working on and decided to try it out on the HP and it worked like a champ!! She is doing just fine & this happened after the (Blank) Squad at (Blank) Buy, (a last resort) told me it might be a bad DC input plug or a bad motherboard. Ohh well

Thanks for all your suggestions.
