Setup was unable to create a new system partition.

Ok,

I freshly installed Win 7 Ultimate x64 on this machine back in October. Recently I decided to start over with a larger harddrive, and now none of my drives will allow me to install. Giving me the error:

Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition.

I am assuming I for some reason need drivers of some kind installed. I have tried two different IDE drives(one of which has my other installation on it but says "BOOTMGR is missing" now since I tookit out and what not), and a SATA. I have deleted partitions, made new ones, formatted, everything I can do with the setup utility. Nothing is working.

If I need drivers, I don't know what it is I would need.RAID drivers are installed.

My system specs are in my signature ;P

Thanks a lot for any and all help!

Dave

Just plug in the one drive for the install and make sure you don't have anything plugged into the USB ports.

Quick question though, will my usb mouse and keyboard be a problem? Because now that I think about it, when I originally installed on this machine I was using an old PS/2 mouse and keyboard...

Ok so I unplugged my SATA and attempted to install and all went well. So looks like you saved the day! Thanks a bunch! ^_^

Good job.

Once Windows 7 is installed and you have rebooted into the installed Windows 7 a couple of times then go ahead and plug all the devices in.
