HTML Text Editor

Hi Folks

I wonder if anyone can recommend an HTML text editor that indicates opening and closing tags such that when a tag is highlighted or clicked the corresponding tag is indicated, thus making mistakes in placing tags easy to find.

I remember using one such tool many years ago, but have not found it or something similar yet.

Ideally freeware or shareware.

Thanks.

BBEdit - not free
Dreamweaver - not free
TextWrangler - I think free
TacoHTML - nearly free if not free
Komodo - practically free
Coda - not free
Smultron - not free
NVU - free I beleive

A google search will turn up all sorts of HTML editors.

I don't know of any editors that do what you're asking but CSE HTML Validator Lite (freeware) is pretty good at helping to find errors.
http://www.freehtmlvalidator.com/

It's a standalone validator that also integrates with NoteTab so I can validate locally on the fly. Convenient. I think it integrates with other editors but I'm not sure.

Thanks chaps, yes I am aware of the search results, there are hundreds of them, and that's the problem. I was rather hoping for a "I use XYZ and it does exactly what you want," type answer.

I had previously downloaded several to try but not found what I was looking for.

I guess all I can do, in the absence of a direct recommendation, is keep trying.

Thanks

Komodo Edit is free: http://www.activestate.com/komodo-edit/downloads and makes organizing tags very easy. As a multi-language editor, it may be more than you need. But I used it every day.
