Question Wired and Wireless on router?

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if it is possible to have an XP wired connection and a Vista wireless connection connecting through the same router with secured connection for both? I have been going in circles here for days with this!

Thanks in advance

clarification are you wanting the two computers to see each other or just a secured connection to the interent through the router.

What ever you want you can have a secured connection.

I would like to have both computers networked to certain files and the printer as well as have a secure internet connection. It seems that when my daughter turns off her computer that the settings get lost. When the laptop is turned on the next day it will say that it is connected with Limited Connectivity. I have never set up a router before and I'm not sure where I am going wrong here.

daughter has a laptop? if so, sometimes for unknown reasons you have to reset the wireless on the laptop. There should be a button on the laptop case for wireless. Turn off then on the computer, if the settings do not reappear, try turning off wireless using that button, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on and see if it resets itself.

Hi Renegade600

LOL. She got it as a graduation gift from her grandparents last year. I have tried that, it doesn't seem to fix the problem. I am wondering I set things up right. I will try that again though and see what happens.

Okay, I tried what you said to again and it is still telling me that it is connected with Limited Connectivity.
