Go Programming Language

I've just become aware of the Go Programming Language see https://golang.org/

I see that one of the authors is Ken Thompson (who I've met) one of the inventors of the Unix operating system. I've downloaded and run a test program and also installed an IDE for Go see https://www.jetbrains.com/go/

Ran my test program through this without any problems. Any others out there tried this? Comments?

Hey this Go programming language is fun, wrote a small socket program to test it and it will output to the web, with the return displayed in a browser.

Any would-be programmers give it a go.

An interesting mix.

I started programing many years ago with Pascal, and after a dabble with Basic, visual Basic and C, I moved to C++. Learned Java, but hated it although I do a little Java script.

PHP and Perl took my interest but one I really love is PovRay, https://www.povray.org/ with this language you can generate pictures all with lines of code, it's reasonably easy to learn with simple syntax, but you need good spacial awareness when programming as you need to make a mental picture of what you are trying to generate when writing the code.

I learnt PovRay when using a 386 computer and sometimes the computer would take up to 45 minutes to render a picture when testing code. Not tried it on a modern machine, but expect it would be vastly faster.

Here's a sample of a picture that can be generated with PovRay
