backing up files

Just wondering what is the best way to back up my files.

The best backup is an image of the drives with the os, and the ones with personal data on them, assuming that the hdd is partitioned.

Good programs for this are not free but Ghost, True Iimage, and Disk Image are all good ones to consider. I have them all and favor The True Image by Acronis, as I have several lappers in addition to my 98SE desktop, and the operation out of the windows gui is needed.

Hmm i could of sworn there was a free version of Ghost....given it is an older version.

but it should meet your needs since this isnt for business use.

I was planning to get Ghost for my new computer as well.

But considering you would have to have a burner in the first place to use Ghost, why not just burn off your data onto cds and reformat?
