No signal to monitor

I have just installed a new motherboard into a system and new RAM. But turning it on, there is no signal to the monitor... Can anyone suggest anything because I'm totally stumped!

It's onboard. And also, there is no beep when I turn it on... I'm guessing this is bad.

Well, it's not good..

Have you checked all your connections to make sure they were connected properly??

Did you make sure you used the stand-offs that should have come with the new mobo to ensure nothing was shorting out??

Have you tried pulling the ram and then boot up?? You should get a BIOS beep error..

What are stand-offs?

I'll go check the RAM thing now...

The stand-offs are the insulated screws or plastic inserts that you use to attach the mobo to the computer frame..

If screws, then they have to be insulated from the mobo and frame with the washers provided.. the plastic inserts do that automatically.. You can't just screw it right to the frame!!

Well there were no screws, no risers and no plastic washers with the motherboard. Eeish, where to go from here?

Well, considering you never got any type of beep error with no memory, I would hazard a good guess you shorted out your motherboard.. See if you can get a replacement..
