Windows XP Problem solving for the Windows XP Operating System

Partition

I have Win XP Pro on my computer. Can I partition it and load Linix on the new partition with affecting the Windows O/S?

You might try reading this guide to see if it gives you a better understanding of dual-booting with Linux and Windows on a single partition.

Personally, I recommend seperate partitions for seperate OS's, but thats just my preference.

You need a Non-Destructive Partitioning tool such as Partititon Magic.

It will allow you to Resize/Move/Add partitions without loosing data.

(backup just incase)
