Ubuntu netbook inside win7

G'day Folks.
Why won't "Ubuntu 10.10 netbook" install inside win7 on a netbook?

I can only make it run from a 'usb flash stick'.

Running from the usb. At boot it always boots as a trial version.

Any ideas please?

do a search on the usb for the wubi.exe file. If it is there, just click on it.

No it doesn't.

From inside win7 I found the wubu.exe in the usb-stick.

I double-clicked and the only options it gave me were to reboot and 'run as a trial' or 'instal alongside'.

Do you have any other ideas?

I just worked it out.

Thinking about it, I remembered that Windows 7 boots different to winXP.
So Ubuntu might not have written into the win7 bot configuration.
So I tried this:-

1] Boot win7
2] Open Ubuntu folder and select 'exe' file.
3] Right click and choose properties.
4] In the Compatibility Tab, I selected the Operating System as Windows Vista, and
Run as administrator.
5] Run Ubuntu.exe and select 'Install Inside Windows 7.

It worked fine for me.

So I hope it helps some-one else.
