\biosinfo.inf could not be loaded - error code 4109

Hi

My first post here, and I'm begging for help....

Yesterday, I was printing something at the same time as downloading photos from my digital camera. The PC (XP/SP2) froze, and I had to switch it off then back on to restart it as ctrl/alt/del wouldnt work at all.

Now when I try to start the PC, I get as far as a light blue screen, with an hourglass cursor.

I've tried safe mode, resetting the bios and it will load no further.

I've now made a set of 6 recovery floppies, hoping I'll be able to boot up that way, but while the firt floppy is loading, I get the error message :

\biosinfo.inf could not be loaded error code 4109

Any ideas on what I can do? Do I need to run my recovery CD's that came with the system, and lose everything on my hard drive?

I've also tried an emergency boot disk, but that just boots up the PC to an A: prompt, and I can go no further.....

Ok...Problem now solved, by installing XP as another operating system. I'll now try and delete my first, faulty installation once I manage to transfer my settings across....
