Howdy psfx,

Welcome to CTH. Not clear just yet if your error is infection related or not. One file there that is an unknown to look into, and maybe more. Let's check more right now. The question file is located on your E drive - is this your CDROM drive? If so, instead of a search, post back info on what you have loaded from CD lately.

Make sure you can View Hidden Files. Also uncheck "Hide Extensions for Known File Types"

Go to this SITE. Click on the Browse button, and navigate to the following hilighted file(s), upload and submit it. Copy the results with the notepad and copy/paste them back here.

E:\INSTALL4\INS3DT.EXE

Then
Go Here and download ATF cleaner. Click on the downloaded file to run it, and select "Select All", then click Empty Selected (and close ATF).

If you have them, also click on Firefox/Opera at the top and repeat the steps (and close ATF).

Go here for an online AV scan (requires IE to run).

Scan "Local Disks" and when finished save the scan log and then post the log here.

Also Go Here and download Silent Runners to your desktop. Run it, and post back here the log it creates. If your AV queries the script, allow it to run. It's not malicious. It will create a file named Startup Programs, and will notify when the scan is complete. Copy the log from the Startup Programs file back here. You can use separate posts if needed.

Hi tom! thanks for the reply!! was desperate in need of help T_T.
However i couldn't recall which CD i loaded recently >< but i did made a search in google and the file seems to be a trojan >< so should i remove it in hijackthis?

also, i have done scans with panda avtice scan, ewido and AVG and only ewido returned some cookies and panda returned 3 viruses while avg returned nothing ><

1 more thing! i don't know why, but my tools tab don't show the normal folder options tab >< however it shows map network drive, disconnect network drive and synchronize. i don't know when it changed >< can you please help on this too?

I can tell by your use of the folders options term you picked up on the change in the registry the infectoin made. By the looks of some files loaded there there may be quite a few more changes needing correcting. Best if you avoid making changes for now unless we discuss them here first. Please do the following.

Right click Here and select Save Target As (Firefox Save Link As) and save UnHookExec.inf to your Desktop.

Then right-click on UnHookExec.inf and select Install.

Next download CleanX-II by sUBs from here to your desktop.

Disconnect from your internet access. If this is dsl/cable or similar connection make sure no modem is operating, or physically disconnect from the computer if necessary.

Close all programs at this time. Then do the following to clear your System Restore.

Go to Start >> Run - type control sysdm.cpl,,4 (and Enter).
Check the "Turn off System Restore on all drives" (and Apply).
Then turn it back on by unchecking the same box (and OK).

Then double-click on the CleanX-II.exe you downloaded to start the repairs. You will receive a warning - click OK to run the repair process.

Once the scan is complete (it may take several minutes, so allow it to finish) it will provide a text log of the results. If the log shows any files remaining in the bottom portion (under "POST RUN ANALYSIS") run the entire scan a second time. Then locate C:\REPORT.TXT log it creates and post that back here. If the second scan also shows files in the lower portion go ahead and post the results back here for review (no need to run it an additional time), along with a new HijackThis and Silent Runners scan please.

I can see the corrections the fix made in the Silent Runners log. Did the fix create the report.txt log to check here? Also has the system operations improved now?

Open Hijackthis.
Click Config - Misc Tools - Open Uninstall Manager.
A list of the entries in Add/Remove programs will appear.
Click on Save List...
The list will be saved as 'Uninstall_list.txt'
Copy & Paste the contents back here for review please.

Also Open HijackThis again. Click Config - Misc Tools. Then check "List also minor sections (full)" and also check "List empty sections (complete)" and then click on "Generate Startup List Log" Copy the log and post it back in this thread. It will be a large logfile.
